Partnered with AI company AIMS to ship prompt-based, audio match, and similarity search features. AI prompt search achieved 53% conversion versus traditional keyword search at 48%, demonstrating measurable impact of natural language interfaces. Led design working closely with ML engineers to make algorithmic outputs intuitive and trustworthy for 100K+ creators worldwide.
During business evaluation period, partnered with Head of Product and Head of Development to assess whether to continue building in-house vs. adopting white-label solutions. Led competitive research analyzing platforms competitors used—found they offered basic features with no differentiation. Made successful business case to leadership that proprietary product enabled competitive advantages like AI search. Result: established clear product vision and roadmap that white-label couldn't match.
Proposed splitting monolithic website into micro applications aligned to customer journey stages (acquisition app for considering customers, music app for search and inspiration). Created vision prototype showing app-like experience with dark mode. Shipped complete experience in 3 months through ruthless prioritization, built on robust design system enabling theme switching and rapid assembly—allowing us to LEGO applications together while maintaining consistency.
Identified that siloed design functions (Product Design vs. Marketing Creative) caused inconsistent customer experiences. Advocated with SVP of Marketing to unify design under shared goals—establishing integrated structure across Experience, Content, and Brand Design. Serve as senior design leader as this consolidated function takes shape, driving toward end-to-end experience ownership across the entire customer journey.
Keep the team relevant by not being held to particular ways of working. Designers now prompt code, push PRs, and support engineering to prototype using our robust design system. Practice what I preach: recently fixed styling bugs in production and created a waveform generator app in Cursor to test comparable waveforms with customers. This hands-on approach helps the team move faster and stay ahead of industry changes.
